The suggestive and varied rock landscape of Salento is not at all as flat as one might believe. In fact, it is characterized by numerous terraces made with typical dry stone walls, to allow the use of the spaces for agricultural activities. There are different routes to enjoy these typical aspects of the Salento countryside, in addition to the countless peasant buildings in dry stone (pajare, liame, furnieddhi), made with such mastery that they have come down to us even after several centuries, and being made with poor materials and old techniques.

How to organize your excursions
Thanks to our friend and partner Diego, owner of a well-known local bike workshop, we organize guided cycling tours in the southern Salento area, discovering its charming rural landscapes, characteristic historic villages, and the most significant local heritage sites.
The routes include stops to visit fascinating places of historical and cultural interest, such as ancient churches, underground olive oil mills, and traditional masserie, offering an authentic experience immersed in nature, culture, and local traditions.
It is also possible to rent a bicycle independently, without a guide, choosing from a wide and varied fleet fully equipped with safety gear and all the necessary accessories to ride in complete comfort and safety.
